| In 2006, Mayor J. Richard Gray formed the Mayor's Office of Special Events
as a non-profit organization. MOOSE's mission is about producing special
events and serving as a resource for others planning events. At the center
of all it discussions, partnerships, decisions and actions is its core purpose
- creating excitement and enthusiasm for the City of Lancaster.
One of the most expedient ways to accomplish this is to think "gathering"
- social gatherings. Gatherings to bring people together not just to enjoy
"the event" but to enjoy one another; to participate in the sense of camaraderie;
to meet new people; to get to know their neighbors.
In short, MOOSE is looking for that next best party where people can work
collectively to create a gathering of neighbors, visitors, acquaintances,
and guests to enjoy the event and one another.
